The Manchester drugs gang that flooded Preston with ‘competitively-priced’ heroin and crack
A county lines drugs gang that delivered heroin and crack cocaine from Manchester to Preston has been jailed.
The gang travelled daily between the two cities to supply local drug users.
Lancashire Police said county lines operations are used by organised crime groups to distribute ‘competitively-priced, controlled drugs to areas in the country where they are less readily available’.
After becoming aware of the gang’s activities detectives launched Operation New Era to crack down on the dealing.
They conducted a number of searches, executing warrants in the Preston area and seizing drugs.
Abrar Ahmed, 24, of Kingsway, Manchester, Yasir Ali, 22, of Meade Grove, Manchester, Shavon Morrison, 21, of Claremont Road, Manchester and Richard Mushonga 21, of Medway Close, Salford were all arrested and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
